Singapore, Asia’s Food Capital

996

Singapore is heralded to be the “Street Food Capital of the World.”  The cuisine is a blend of various cultures including Indian, Chinese, Arab, Malay, Peranakan and Eurasian. Popular dishes include nasi lemak (rice with coconut milk – pictured here,) wantan mee, chilli crab, Indian mee goreng and Hainanese chicken rice.

Street food is not the only thing that is popular in Singapore, in the past few years several Celebrity chefs have opened restaurants including Wolfgang Puck, Daniel Boulud, Guy Savoy and Joel Robuchon.

While you’re there, don’t forget to try a Singapore Sling – a lively drink made from gin, liqueurs and fruit juice. Browse 2012 Asia tour vacations.
