#Transformers Expo in China

1199

The new Transformer Movie, Age of Extinction is coming to theaters on June 27th.  The transformers craze is not just in the U.S.  China has always had an infatuation with technology, computers and robots. Because of this, it’s no surprise that the 30th Anniversary Transformers Expo is being held there. The event started on June 1 and goes through October 5. There are thousands of different transformers toys at the event.

About Transformers
Transformers do just that, they transform. The first toys were usually animals or cars that transformed into a robot or something else equally as cool. The overall premise behind them is that they are friends to kids and that they are protectors of all things good. They were first launched in 1974, but weren’t introduced to the U.S. until 1984. These toys became very popular after a transformer’s movie was introduced in 1986. It was based on the year 2005. A new transformer’s movie was not released in the U.S. until 2007. There have been a few sequels to that movie as well. The transformer’s franchise has continued to produce new toys over the years which is why it has remained popular with both children and adults.

Highlights of the Expo
The expo will feature over 1,000 different transformer statues. There will be 6 ½ feet tall transformer holograms and 22 feet transformer figures as well. Guests can also play at some of the themed game booths or experience some of the more popular scenes from the Transformers movie by taking part in the 10 different interactive zones. These zones include Military Base, Collection Vault, Cybertron World, Combat Station, Alliance Station, Power Up Point, Matrix Fight, Transformers Decode, World War and The Secret Space. The expo will feature a different limited-edition figurine each month that guests can purchase.

Cost and Hours
The event is open each day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Cotai Expo Hall F, Venetian Macao, Macau. Admission is $13 for adults and $10 for children.
