Beautiful Places In The World To See Snow

Many cities receive a good amount of snow during the winter months. This turns those destinations into gorgeous winter wonderlands. Throughout the world there are some really beautiful places to see snow.

Mt. Buller, Australia
When you envision Australia you probably get images in your head of kangaroos and koalas. Most people don’t realize that there are a few places in Australia, like MT. Buller, that receive snowfall. This mountain region actually gets snow frequently and is a popular spot for snowboarders and skiers.

Naarden, Netherlands
This is a unique town as it was actually built within a star fort. It has everything from a moat to walls. When the snowfall occurs during the winter, the entire town looks like something you would only see in a movie.

Štramberk, Czech Republic
This city is located on a slope of a hill that’s surrounded by trees. There is a medieval town that overlooks Štramberk as well. What makes this area so beautiful in the winter are the timbered houses with their lights aglow in the evening.

Damüls, Austria
This city is Europe’s snowiest place. Each year it receives around 30 feet of snowfall. Even though the town itself only has about 300 people, it’s a popular place for tourists looking to partake in winter sports.

Bled, Slovenia
For a truly breathtaking experience, you must visit Bled. The town features a beautiful lake and castle. The city was founded in 1004 and has intriguing mountains as their backdrop. One of the most visited places in Bled are its many health spas, which it’s known for.

El Chalten, Argentina
Despite the beauty of this town, it’s often deserted. It’s an excellent spot for tourists that want to get away in the winter without having to deal with a lot of people.

Queenstown, New Zealand
One of the things that makes this town so beautiful in the winter isn’t necessarily the snow, but the lake. The incredible Lake Wakatipu freezes over in the winter months and adds a bit of a magical aura to Queenstown along with the mountains that surround it.

Grise Fjord, Canada
This city gets very cold! It has 104 consecutive days of darkness each year so there’s no sun to warm it up. Because of this, the town becomes a winter wonderland in the winter amidst the glow of the street lights that illuminate it.
