It’s day 5 on our Insight Tour Italian Vogue and we spent the day in Capri. Edgar Allen Po said that “traveling is like dreaming.” Many of us however can’t remember dreams once we awake, but with travel you bring back fond memories that last a lifetime. We walked along the beautifully sculpted coast of the island with its precipitous cliffs, it’s mysterious grottos and dramatic rocky peaks. We wandered down alleyways filled with unique shops and watched the locals including a shoe maker, tailor and baker. The pungent scents of lemon, rosemary and myrtle fill the air. The deep pink of the bougainvillea stand out brilliantly against the turquoise of the sea. The sunset is the most spectacular I have ever seen…the sky glows with subtle pinks, oranges and purple at twilight until the sun finally sinks into the water right off the coast. Capri is a paradise.
