Tulip Time in Amsterdam is Here Again

Life isn’t necessarily a “tiptoe through the tulips, ” but it can be a wonderful day spent in the gorgeous Keukenhof Tulips Garden in Amsterdam. Research has shown that flowers make people happy. For centuries, flowers have been used in beauty products, food, medicines, for decoration or an expression of emotion. In Amsterdam, the tulip represented big money through trade in the 1600’s. Hundreds of thousands of people travel every year to visit the Keukenhof Tulips Garden in Amsterdam to enjoy the nearly seven millions flower bulbs planted each year.

Dates:
This year tourists can get a start on flower power rejuvenation beginning March 24, 2011. The season will end with one last sweet inhale on May 20, 2011, which the best time to travel being April, and who doesn’t love a parade? The Flower Parade of 2011 will happen on April 16, 2011.

Times:
From 8:00am to 7:30pm, tourists can enjoy this amazing place. Tickets can be purchased as late as 6pm for all the fashionably late arrivals.

Always wanted to know the difference between a tulip bulb and a light bulb? Come and take advantage of the of the flower frenzied brain cells of the many vendors and experts ready to beguile you with tulip brilliance at one of many indoor flower shows. Be the envy of your neighbors as you spruce up your garden with a bounty of tulip lovelies. Starting to yearn for a rose, already? There will be other beautiful posies there to go goo goo over. It is a Flower show, come and enjoy.

How about a slow boat ride for you and your best camera, snapping the best flower photos € 7.50 can buy. For one hour, you can sit back and relax and enjoy the world’s largest flower garden. Tulips are not the only spring flower blooming at Keukenhof. Daffodils, hyacinths, and narcissi are also all flowering for what seems to go on for miles.

Kids can have a blast playing among the flowers, also. Well, they can smell the tulips from the top of an imaginary mountain peak in the playground or jungle gym. And, hey, don’t forget the petting zoo which offers loads of fun and while you’re there, check out the mysterious labyrinth.

So there you have it. Flower power is about to takeover Amsterdam once again. Time to get some tickets and a great camera and get over to Keukenhof Tulips Garden in Amsterdam! You won’t regret it!
