The Golden Isles Of Georgia consists of four barrier islands along Georgia’s coast: Sea Island, St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island and Little St. Simmons Island as well as the city of Brunswick. If you have ever considered visiting this area, now is a great time to plan that vacation. The Golden Isles Of Georgia offers a lot to do with a charming southern hospitality that goes along with it.

 St. Simons
This is the largest of the bunch. Visitors are pleased to find numerous shops, restaurants, 99 holes of golf and many beaches.

Sea Island
People come from near and far to visit Sea Island. The Cloister is the hub where all the activity takes places with its gun, golf and beach clubs.

Jekyll Island
This is a very inviting destination, especially for visitors with children. There’s a water park, nature centers and bike trails.

Little St. Simons Island
This little piece of paradise can only be accessed by boat. It features marshlands and secluded beaches that few ever get to see.

Brunswick
This city has an interesting past as it gets its roots from the American Revolution. It’s filled with a variety of things to do like visiting the historic district or taking a walk at one of the waterfront parks.

Things To Do At All Of The Islands And Brunswick

Shopping
This isn’t your typical place to shop, at least for the next month that is. During the holiday season there are a variety of Christmas markets, including Pier Village Holiday Market and Mistletoe Market. There are also plenty of other places to shop year round as well.

Activities
You’ll be pleased to find a variety of activities taking place no matter what time of the year it is. If you are into shows visit the Ritz Radio Theatre or Brunswick Actors Theatre. For those that love being outdoors there are miles of beaches to enjoy where you can collect seashells or ride a horse along the sand. Visitors can also rent a bike to navigate around the area or go on a paddleboat ride through the marshlands.

Christmas Happenings
There are quite a few holiday inspired activities that occur at The Golden Isles. Santa makes an appearance at Crane Cottage on Jekyll Island. The Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation shows guests what Christmas was like in the 1850s with carols, cookies and candlelight.  There are even quite a few parades that take place including the Christmas Boat Parade of Lights, The Brunswick Christmas Parade and the parade along Gloucester Street that takes place in the evening. Both Jekyll Island and Brunswick host tree lighting ceremonies after Thanksgiving.
