Sonoma/Napa Valley Wine Events For October

Grape harvest season occurred in California late into the summer. Because of this, there’s a lot going on in wine country to celebrate. From family festivals, to grape stomping, Sonoma and Napa Valley are buzzing with events, especially on the weekend of October 3rd. Below you will find some of the top festivities.

Cliff Family Farm Fest, October 3, 2 p.m.-7 p.m.
This family friendly event features farm tours for the whole family and wine tastings for adults. Attendees can participate in food and wine pairings as well. There will be live music to add to the festivities. Tickets are $75 for adults, $20 for those ages 12-20 and it’s free for those under 12. Tickets for Wine Club Members are $50.

Paraduxx Winery Harvest Festival, October 3, 3 p.m.-6p.m.
This festival is all about eating and drinking while listening to a live band. The winery’s chef-partner, Natalie, will be making hors d’oeuvres for guests to enjoy. A variety of wines will be available to sampling. For those feeling adventurous, there will even be a few games to play to add to the fun. Tickets start at $50.

Summers Estate Winery Harvest Party, Grape Stomp and Lobster Fee, October 3, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
There are a lot of things going on at this festival. Visitors can take part in the grape stomping competition or watch the lobster feed. There will also be plenty of wine to sample. General admission is $145 and $125 for Wine Club Members. This is an adult’s only affair.

Sonoma County Harvest Fair, October 2-4, All Day
This might be the most anticipated event in Sonoma. The area celebrates their local grape harvest with beer and cider tastings, food workshops and food and wine pairings from 150 different wineries. This is also where the World Championship Grape Stomp is held. General admission tickets are $5. It’s free to get in if you bring 4 non-perishable food items to donate. Tickets for the tasting pavilion are $55 for one day, $100 for 2 days and $125 for 3 days. This festival has been taking place since 1975.

Ty Canton Vineyards Barrel Tasting, October 3, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Attendees can taste the vineyard’s 2014 wines right out of the barrel during this event. The resident chef, Sandy, will be on hand serving some of her signature dishes. Current and future released wine will be on sale at discounted prices. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Wine club members and their guests (up to 4 people in total) are free to get in.
