Hundreds of Museums in the U.S. Are Free on September 18, 2021

Smithsonians’ Museum Day is back after having to take last year off due to COVID. Hundreds of museums across the country will be participating this Saturday, September 18th. The theme for this year’s museum day is “Experience America.” According to the Smithsonian, the festive day represents “a national commitment to access, equality and inclusion.” Culture buffs are bound to find a place of interest with topics ranging from general history to art, science as well as air, rail and space.

Admission is good for up to 2 people. Tickets are available on the Smithsonian magazine website. It’s not only museums that will be offering free admission on September 18, many zoos and cultural centers in all 50 states are also included.

Popular places on the list include the Alabama Aquarium, UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens, the Museum of Pop Culture & the Museum of Flight in Seattle, the National WWII Museum in New Orleans, and the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York.

In Florida, you can choose from the Coral Springs Museum of Art, the Manatee Observation and Education Center in Fort Pierce, the Key West Museum of Art & History; Orange County Regional History Center, Orlando; the Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Peterburg, the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum, the Naples Botanical Garden, and the 1885 Train Depot Museum and the Brevard Museum of History & Natural Science are just a few of the places you can visit for free.
