Now that the ice is beginning to melt and the cold weather is being replaced by sunnier days, flowers are starting to bloom. Spring is a time to get outdoors and enjoy nature. If you are looking to attend a flower show, some of the best ones are located right here in the United States.
Epcot Flower and Garden Festival
From now until May 18th visitors can see some of the most beautiful flowers in the world in Epcot. The Flower and Garden Festival features not only numerous topiary displays that showcase Disney characters, but designer presentations from HGTV, concerts where music from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s will be played and a play areas for the kids to learn about flowers and gardens. One day tickets to the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival and the rest of the attractions in Epcot are $94.
The Lilac Festival
From May 9-18th in Rochester, New York the Lilac Festival will be displaying over 50 different varieties of blooming lilacs. This festival is free and features activities for kids as well as a parade and a craft show. There will be vendors on site where visitors can purchase food and there will be a craft beer garden as well. Many plants, including lilacs, will be on sale.
The Coronado Flower Show
The nation’s largest tented flower show is coming to San Diego on April 26th and 27th. The Coronado Flower show features tents of flowers with a giant gazebo in the middle that is used as a stage for entertainment that will be taking place during the event. There will be lectures pertaining to gardening, floral demonstrations, intricate flower displays and flowers available for purchase. Tickets to the show are $5 for those ages 12 and up.
Tulip Time
Tulip Time is one of the most anticipated events in Holland, Michigan. Over 500,000 people are expected to be in attendance when it takes place from May 4-10. There will be over 6 million tulips displayed during this week long event. Visitors can shop at the Dutch market, take a trolley tour or watch one of the 3 parades or 40 bands perform. There’s numerous amounts of Dutch food available for purchase as well as souvenirs. The last day of the event concludes with a parade that features more than 4,000 participants and floats.
