Unique Hotel Wakeup Calls

In the past, hotels generally give guests wakeup calls by, well, calling them. Some hotels have an even better way of doing things. The following places will wake you up in a way that you won’t forget.

Rosalie Bay Resort In Dominica
This wakeup call is actually one you don’t request. The area is known for its turtle watching and guests are gentle woken up with a dinging sound when it’s turtle watching time. Obviously you don’t have to get up and see the turtles, but you really don’t want to miss them laying their eggs or even some of the eggs hatching.

Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica In Peru
Guests at this hotel are awoken with a personal alarm clock. Basically a guide visits each bungalow. Then he beats a drum with the melody getting faster and faster until the party in the room is awoken from their slumber.

ROOST Apartment Hotel In Philadelphia
This hotel wakeup call uses coffees as their means to wake up its guests. A coffee concierge visits each room and makes the coffee. He or she goes into each room’s kitchenette and first grinds the beans. The grinding probably wakes its guests up before they even get the scent of the coffee.

Paradise Beach Nevis Resort In Nevis
Just because you get a wakeup call it doesn’t mean that you have to jump up out of bed right after. At this resort you get woken up and breakfast in bed all in once. A personal chef knocks on guest’s doors with a gourmet breakfast in hand. They can request simple dishes like eggs and bacon or more elaborate ones like eggs Florentine.

Las Ventanas al Paraiso In Los Cabos
One of the best ways to wake up is to get a whiff of coffee that is brewing nearby. At this hotel coffee and a butler will help wake you up. A butler will come to your room and knock on your door with coffee, tea and breakfast breads in hand.

Las Brisas In Acapulco
Your typical wakeup call won’t be found here. No one will be knocking on your door or making any special calls to you. How you will be woken up is by the roaring of a pink jeep’s engine. The jeep heads to each casita to bring a breakfast feast. Don’t worry though, the driver will knock before they drop the breakfast off to you.

Holiday Inn at Panama City Beach
During Spring Break each year in March, at exactly 11 a.m. this hotel blasts the song “Circle of Life” from the Lion King.  Most people end up gathering on their balconies to hear the music.

No matter where you go, hotel wakeup calls tend to be serious business. For instance, at IHG’s Crowne Plaza, if you don’t get a wakeup within 5 minutes of your time you requested it, your hotel stay will be free.

The next time you go on vacation, go ahead and request that wakeup call. You might be delighted to see what that actually entails.
