Who To Watch

With over 200 countries participating in the Winter Olympics this year, the participants from the United States will have their work cut out for them as they vie to win as many medals as possible. There are plenty of contenders to watch this year that have been making news recently. At only 17 years old Maame Biney is the first black woman to ever qualify for the U.S.’s short track speed skating team. Another 17 year old to watch, Chloe Kim is among the favorites to win a gold in snowboarding for Team USA. Lowell Bailey will try to win Team USA’s first Olympic biathlon medal. Bailey is no stranger to the Olympics as he has competed in the past and placed 8th in the men’s 20-kilometer in 2014, which was the highest finish ever in the sport for the United States. The Men’s Curling Team hopes to bring home some kind of medal this year after failing to do so for the past ten years. John Shuster will be returning to the team once again and will hopefully be able to help the team earn a medal like he was able to do in 2006.
