It’s that time again- kids are about to go back to school soon. Get the kids ready for school by doing a little bit of learning as a family beforehand. The month of August is a good time to see some of the local wildlife and take a hike. Places like the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Park are great places to spend a little bit of bonding time with your kids while your learn to fish, go on a hike and do some chatting around a campfire.

Theme Parks

Sure theme parks are usually very busy during the summer months, but most people don’t mind the large crowds, long lines and hot weather in order to ride their favorite rides with their little ones. One of the more popular rides this summer is Harry Potter And The Escape From Gringotts ride at Universal Orlando. The wait is very long as of recently so if you plan on riding this ride make sure you plan accordingly.

The weather in Alaska during August ranges from about 61 to 73 degrees which makes it a rather pleasant time to visit the area. Many visitors flock to Alaska during the month of August to see the bears gather along the shoreline to eat the spawning salmon. It definitely is quite the site! In addition to the bears there’s a lot of other wildlife like sea otters, puffins, whales and bald eagles.
