You don’t have to head all the way to Munich to participate in Oktoberfest. Many of the major cities in the U.S. have some sort of celebration. Hurry up, though, as many of them will be occurring soon. Here are some of the places where you can celebrate Oktoberfest in the United States.

Oktoberfest Zinzinnati 

Dates: September 16-18

This Cincinnati tradition is the nation’s largest Oktoberfest and showcases the rich German Heritage of southwestern Ohio. There’s still time to head over to Cincinnati to take part in the largest Oktoberfest celebration in America. Zinzinnati has more than 500,000 attendees each year, for a good reason! There’s so much going on, including live performances and the beloved stein holding contest. In between all of that, you can enjoy a German beer (or two or three!), eat a bratwurst, or enjoy a large pickle. Oktoberfest Zinzinnati® serves up 100+ varieties of beer and German-influenced dishes from over 30 food vendors.

Mount Angel Oregon Oktoberfest

Dates: September 14-17

This is Oregon’sOregon’s oldest and best-loved Oktoberfest began in 1966 as a traditional harvest festival to celebrate the bounty of the earth and the goodness of creation. The 58th Mount Angel Oktoberfest runs from Sept 14-17, 2023. Celebrate the German and Swiss Heritage with four days of fun. The small community of Mount Angel, Oregon, was settled by German pioneers in the 1800’s1800’s. Celebrated in the heart of Oregon, Mount Angel Oktoberfest brings 350,000 people to the Bavarian village every September. Enjoy 5 World Class entertainment from Germany, Canada, New York, Utah, Oregon, Florida, and California, from Alphorns to Alpine Rock is shared continuously on four stages. Biergartens with a great selection of imported German biers and N.W. craft brews. Over 50 food booths, Car show, Golf tournament, wiener dog races, half marathon and so much more. 

Denver Oktoberfest  

Dates: September 16-18, 23-25

Before all of the tourists come to Denver to visit the slopes, they often come here for Oktoberfest. It had humble beginnings when it started in 1969 but now attracts thousands upon thousands of visitors every year. This festival has all of the things that a successful Oktoberfest has, including a variety of food, live music, and of course, a lot of beer. The Denver Oktoberfest has been a staple two-weekend festival in Downtown Denver since 1969. From keg bowling to stein hoisting, live music, and more, there’s something here for Oktoberfest pros and first-timers.

Oktoberfest Chicago 

Dates: September 23-25

Head over to the windy city to take part in some Oktoberfest fun. One of the highlights of this event is the homemade bratwurst. Oktoberfest Chicago has been known to get wild, so don’t be surprised if you see some exciting things happen during this festival. This popular Chicago Oktoberfest is hosted by St. Alphonsus Church, featuring handmade bratwurst, cold beer, and authentic German music.

Oktoberfest USA Wisconsin

Dates: September 29 – October 1

Be a part of an authentic Old World folk festival held annually in the United States. Das Beaste Oktoberfest La Crosse Wisconsin Traditional yearly events include Torchlight Parade, tapping of the Sam Adams Golden Keg, Lederhosen Games of stein races, barrel rolls, grain tosses, polka dancing, stein holding competitions, and a Festmaster’sFestmaster’s ball.

Fredericksburg Texas Oktoberfest

Dates: First weekend in October

Oktoberfest celebrates Fredericksburg’sFredericksburg’s German Heritage with four stages: continuous live music, entertainment, arts and crafts, shopping, and a children’s area. In addition, there are 50 varieties of American, Texas, and imported beers, Texas Wine Country selections, great food, and fun all weekend long. Oktoberfest takes place at Marktplatz, which is a part of downtown Fredericksburg. It takes place the first weekend in October.

Four Peaks Oktober Fest Tempe Arizona

Dates: October 7-9

The Four Peaks Oktoberfest at Tempe Town lake runs from October 7-9 for German food, local beer, and live music all weekend long. In addition, festival Carnival food, three bratwurst tents, desserts, Carnival Rides, Dachshund Races, karaoke, and the list goes on and on. 

Leavenworth Oktoberfest 

Dates: October 7-8 and 14-15

This event is so large that it takes place over three weekends. Even though Leavenworth is small, they spare no expense when it comes to the celebrations. Visitors will participate in all sorts of activities and perhaps purchase their own lederhosen. One of the best parts about this festival is the Cascade Mountains as the backdrop. They tend to be snow-capped and provide a feel of authenticity to this festival. Enjoy live music in two large entertainment venues featuring oom-pah, polka music, and Bavarian dancing groups, serving a large selection of beer imported directly from Germany and an assortment of wine and Brats. Try one of the Official Oktoberfest brats. Leavenworth Oktoberfest is celebrating its 24th year! Don’t settle for anything less than the “Original” Leavenworth Oktoberfest!

Linde Tulsa Oktoberfest

Dates: October 20-23

Tulsa Oktoberfest celebrates authentic Bavarian culture in the heart of Oklahoma. This Oktoberfest celebration brings together international and local German bands, Bavarian delicacies, and bier. As well as arts, crafts, games such as bier barrel racing, competitions, and kids activities for the entire family. Enjoy bratwurst, over 200 taps of German and local bieren, Bavarian cheesecake and strudel, wiener schnitzel, and brats, just to name a few. On top of that, there is great music, VIP experiences and thousands of your friends gathered at River West Festival Park in 140,000 square feet of tents, stages and more.

Oktoberfest Helen Georgia

Dates: September 29 – October 30

The longest-running Oktoberfest in the United States. Helen’sHelen’s Oktoberfest daily from September 29 to October 30, 2022. Every year the Helen Festhalle houses the event. The Oktoberfest celebrations are very different from weekday to weekend. Weekends are popular with large tour and college groups, while weekdays are often more family-friendly. German-style bands from around the country and around the world play on the stage for your listening and viewing pleasure. The beautiful town of Helen is nestled amongst the Blue Ridge Mountains in northeast Georgia. It is well known for their Alpine Bavarian Style buildings in town and vineyards. Many trails run through the Chattahoochee National Forest to the Anna Ruby and Raven Cliff waterfalls. You can zipline through the treetops or float down the Chattahoochee River; Helen offers something for everyone. 

Oktoberfest Savannah, Georgia

Festival dates: Saturdays from September 24 – October 29

Stroll along the Plant Riverside District and enjoy Savannah’sSavannah’s Oktoberfest celebration. All family-friendly festivities are free and open to the public. Every Saturday from 1-4 p.m., the Pavilion Tent along the riverfront at Plant Riverside District will feature free live polka music by Bob and the Polka Dots and a free keg toss, bratwurst eating contests, and stein holding competitions. Enjoy specialty beers as well as food and beverage options for all ages.

Hofbrauhaus Las Vegas Oktoberfest 

Dates: September 9 – October 31

Those visiting the Vegas Strip don’t have to miss out on the Oktoberfest fun. The Hofbrauhaus Las Vegas Experience is A True Brewhaha. There are many things going on here, including raffles with awesome prizes, lager drinking contests, and German musical acts. Those who visit this festival are often surprised to see the number of celebrities that tend to make an appearance during this event. Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas is the only exact replica in the world of the original Hofbräuhaus in Munich, Germany. Dates: September 18 – November 6

Held in Huntington Beach each year, the Old World Oktoberfest is quite an interesting event to come to the Pacific Coast. For just a few days, many locals ditch their bathing suits for their lederhosen as they enjoy a few steins of beer, participate in a weiner dog race or do the chicken dance.
