When traveling you probably want to get the most bang for your buck. In some countries, you can get a lot for a little bit of money while in other countries you won’t be so fortunate. This is what one, U.S. dollar will buy you around the world.
Breakfast
In Netherlands you can get a pretty filling breakfast if you head over to the supermarket. For only a buck you can get 10 pancakes. Unfortunately, syrup doesn’t come with it. In Malaysia you can have a nice hearty breakfast for just a dollar. You can buy a dozen eggs. If you are needing some caffeine in the morning, then you can probably get it no matter where you are at. For those that need a little pick me up, a buck in India will get you just that. You can get six cups of chai for only $1. Plus, a side of jitteriness if you drink it all at one time. In Italy you can only get one espresso or cappuccino for that price.
Lunch
Don’t expect to get a lot in Hong Kong with only a dollar. In fact, you can only get one measly slice of bread. Take small bites, so it will last longer. If you bring your bread over to Egypt, you can pair it with can of tuna for another buck.
Dinner
In Colombia, you can get three empanadas for dinner for just a dollar. For those in Vietnam they will probably leave still feeling hungry as they can only get a bowl of pho.
Drinks
Feeling hot and need a cool me down while in Australia? Head over to Mcdonalds with your dollar. You can get a cold slushy and a brain freeze if you drink it too fast. You can get a better deal at McDonalds if you are in South Africa. You can actually get two cheeseburgers for just a dollar. Sorry, fries will be extra.
Snacks
If you’re thirsty and want a little snack, then you’re in luck if you find yourself in Nigeria with just a dollar. You can get a bag of chips and a can of soda. Want something healthier? Head to Honduras where you can get 11 bananas.
Alcohol
Feeling thirsty? Head to Hungary as $1 will buy you a bottle of wine. Now the wine, might not be great, but hey, it’s a dollar! If you’re in Czech Republic your dollar won’t get you much, but you will be able to purchase a bottle and a half of beer. You might want to just save your money until you get to Poland as a dollar will buy you a shot.
