PRIDE MONTH
Pride month is a celebratory movement that acknowledges sexual diversity, and the movement also brings awareness of discrimination and violence that has been affecting the LGBT community. On June 27, 1970, the first pride march was organized by Chicago Gay Liberation. The spirit behind the pride movement for equality has only strengthened over the past decades, with hundreds of pride events organized in 80-plus countries.
It is truly awesome to see people from different walks of life stand in solidarity for love. The right to love freely! We as a society need this movement to keep reminding us that the only way to achieve or become the beacon of light is to recognize individuals’ rights to live their version of love and feel safe in exercising their freedom of choice. Like any movement that pursues equal rights for all and promotes dignity and pride in oneself.
