Honeymooning Like a Royal With the recent weddings Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie and her beau Jack Brooksbank, there was a lot of speculation about where the newlyweds would go for their royal honeymoon.  Honeymooning like a royal is not just reserved for princesses and princes.   Look for a beautiful, private setting with all the best luxury amenities and you will be honeymooning like a royal, too. Here are of some of the top honeymoon destinations that are fit for royalty. Of course with the right budget, you could honeymooning like a royal is easy. The Seychelles Located off the eastern coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean, the Seychelles is a string of islands rich with coral reefs, rainforest, and pristine beaches.  It is also where royals Prince William and Kate Middleton went for their honeymoon.  The Seychelles is the perfect romantic getaway for a honeymoon with plenty of activities for couples to do such as snorkeling and sightseeing, trekking through rainforest, or soaking up the sun on the beautiful untouched beaches.  The Seychelles is also the ideal venue for privacy and luxury– two things necessary for honeymooning like a royal.  Princess Kate and Prince William reportedly stayed at the exclusive North Island resort that features private villas in a private island setting.  North Island is a true luxury resort offering everything from fine dining and spa services to excursions and sunset cruises, making it the ideal place to honeymoon like a royal. The Azores Another chain of islands perfect for honeymooning like a royal, the Azores are volcanic islands located 1000 miles west of the coast of Portugal in the Atlantic Ocean.  The secluded, picturesque location was where the Duke and Duchess of York honeymooned following their royal wedding in 1986, and there is a lot of royal speculation that their daughter, Princess Eugenie, will also choose the Azores for their upcoming honeymoon.  The Azores is a beautiful backdrop for a romantic honeymoon, and there are a number of luxury resorts to stay at.  With sightseeing and whale-watching, horseback riding, golf, diving, paragliding and sailing, the Azores has something for every couple– royal or not. The Mediterranean Islands A romantic honeymoon in the Mediterranean is another favorite choice for royal newlyweds.  Hollywood royalty Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III of Monaco took a seven-week Mediterranean cruise on the Prince’s private yacht, staying at the lush Formentor “Royal Hideaway” Hotel in Mallorca.  In 2011, the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, Zara Phillips and her husband escaped to the Mediterranean island of Cyprus for their honeymoon.  There is no shortage of beautiful, secluded islands located in the Mediterranean Sea, and the temperate climate makes it an ideal honeymoon destination. Alberta, Canada While snowy Canada doesn’t seem like your typical setting for a royal honeymoon getaway, a luxurious ski lodge is the perfect location for a cozy, romantic honeymoon.  The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta was rumored to be where royal superstars Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle went to celebrate their nuptials.  Located in the UNESCO World Heritage-recognized Jasper National Park, the lodge is considered a Canadian paradise surrounded by breathtaking wilderness. Jumby Bay Island, Antigua This 300 acres private island is just 2 miles off of the coast of Antigua & is reachable only by boat.  Choose from just 40 suites, a collection of villas or estate homes.  In the evening, the 250 staff return to the mainland, assuring privacy for all guests.
