The 2020 South Florida Fair is open at the South Florida Fairgrounds today, January 17th through February 2, 2020. The address is 9067 Southern Blvd. The fair is open every day from at 10 am on weekends and 12 pm on weekdays. This year’s theme is “Play Ball, Play Fair!” in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution and Florida Humanities, highlighting the cultural impacts of sports. There will be interactive and educational sports exhibits including a photography exhibit from the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

South Florida Fair Rides & Entertainment

You can choose from over 200 rides, enjoy livestock, barrel & pig races, an artist alley & market square for shopping. Rides are available for all ages including “kiddie” ride such as Charlie the Chopper & Undersea Adventure, as well as plenty of family rides including bumper cars, Wacky Worm Coaster, tea cups & Betty Go Round. There are plenty of rides for thrill seekers as well including Cliff Hanger, RC-48 (the 2nd largest portable roller coast in the U.S.,) Super Himalaya & Starship 4000.

You’ll have lots of entertainment options including the Carnivale show by Cirque Dreams 3 x’s daily in the Expo Theater West. The Leaping Lotus Acrobats of China will perform live drumming daily in the Expo East Theater. There will also be four stages of music and entertainment featuring everybody from The Lettermen to Starship, to Starz of the Future to the annual rock tribute band competition.

For foodies, make sure and check out the 20 x 20 ft. cake in the main exhibit hall designed by Royal Palm Beach resident, Beth Townsend. The cake will feature 30 characters including flamingos, manatees, sharks, dolphins & sea turtles playing sports and rotate on a 12 ft. motorized turntable. You can also check out the “Batters Up” cupcake contest at 1 pm on Sunday, January 19th in Building 5. Popular food items over the past several years included funnel cakes, deep fried oreo’s, pecan rolls, roasted street corn, turkey legs, corn dogs & doughnut burgers. Below are some of the tasty treats that you can try at this year’s South Florida Fair. Keep an eye out for Coolicious Treats serving a jalapeno chocolate ice cream.

South Florida Fair Discounts

Special discounts are available on senior day, bike nights and $Tuesdays. For those that did not take advantage of early ticket sales, tickets are now only available at the gates. The admission is $15 Monday through Friday and $20 on weekends, for ages 12 & up; $8 for ages 6 to 11 and $9 for ages 60 and older. Ride wristbands are $25 Monday through Friday and $40 Saturdays & Sundays.

  • Tuesdays: $Tuesdays are back! Admission on Tuesday, Jan. 21 and Jan. 28 includes admission, rides and food bites for $2 all day. Some rides are excluded.
  • Senior Day: Admission is $5 for seniors (60 and older) on Monday, Jan. 27. There will be special events for seniors from 12 to 8 p.m.
  • Bike nights: Wednesday, Jan. 22 and Jan. 29 admission is $5 per person. You must ride on a motorcycle to receive the special admission price. Riders must arrive by 6 p.m. Bike parade starts at 6:30 p.m.
