When you think about haunted places, we normally associate ghosts and ghouls being attached to cemeteries and historical places… However, throughout the United States some of the most haunted places are actually schools. These are some of the most haunted high schools in the country.
Roy High School In Utah
It’s no secret that there have been a lot of ghost sightings at this high school. One of the ghosts, known as Mable, likes to hang around backstage in the auditorium. She likes to move props and mess around with the lights. Another ghost, who’s thought to have died when he was walking to school and got hit by a train, roams the halls.
Lee Williams High School In Arizona
There’s no shortage of odd occurrences and ghostly appearances at this high school. Lights flicker quite often and motion detectors seem to go off by themselves. A ghostly girl calls out during the night when she wants to go outside. A ghostly man, who wears a bowler hat, likes to walk around the halls. Ever since part of the football field was renovated back in 2010 and part of it now sits on top of a cemetery, that ghostly sightings have seemed to increase. Ghosts have been spotted during events that have taken place on the field.
Cathedral High School In California
This high school was built on Old Calvary Cemetery, which might explain some of the ghost sightings. Headstones that were removed are now displayed on the football field of the school which probably doesn’t help with all of the paranormal activity. Maintenance workers claim that they have heard spirits in the evening. They also report feeling cold spots as they walk around the property in the evenings.
El Paso High School In Texas
There are a lot of ghost stories associated with this school. One of the most famous ones has to do with a photo. In 1985 a picture was taken of the graduating class. In the middle of the picture there is a blurry woman, yet no such person was actually in the picture. Many believe that this was actually a girl who committed suicide years back by jumping off a balcony at the school. Other odd occurrences involve a strange goo dripping from the ceiling and a strange mist in the hallways.
Pocatello High School In Idaho
Not only have there been numerous ghost sightings here, but there’s also video evidence of some of these occurrences. Ghosts like to hang around the rafters of the school’s theater and whisper in the halls.They like to turn the lights on and off and are often seen walking about. It has been found that over six deaths have occurred here. One of them involved a suicide pact between two girls back in the 1940s or 1950s. It was found that one of the girls took her life away in her school locker. The scent of her perfume can be smelled near her locker at times.
