Globus Tours Coronavirus Update – Peace of Mind, COVID Testing & More

3304

Globus Tours have been around for more than 90 years & are one of the best options for travelers when it comes to guided vacations. More importantly, Globus Tours was one of the best companies to work with amidst COVID. They not only offer guests an amazing travel experience but when it was needed the most, they also put the traveler’s needs and welfare first. While other companies only issued travel credits, Globus stepped up and refunded guests who felt they did not want or could not travel next year.

Globus Tours has made the thoughtful decision to suspend international travel operations through April 30, 2021.  This includes their family of brands including Globus Tours, Cosmos Tours, Avalon River Cruises & Monograms Travel. Some U.S.A. tours have resumed with small groups of travelers.

Globus Tours Coronavirus Peace of Mind Travel Plan

Globus has introduced an unprecedented program designed to give travelers flexibility when considering their travel plans, “the Peace of Mind Travel Plan.” All 2021 travel bookings automatically come with the Peace of Mind Travel Plan free of charge. This plan gives guests the ability to move their booking to another destination, vacation, brand or simply a different 2021 or 2022 no questions asked. You just have to make the decision prior to final payment and they will waive all land or cruise penalties and transfer your money to the new vacation.

And for as long as the COVID-19 pandemic is still affecting, travel**, all bookings for 2022 travel dates are also covered by their Peace of Mind Travel Plan, extending the ability to move travel dates through 2023.

Globus Tours Coronavirus Health & Safety

The Globus on-trip assurance all starts with a Global Health & Safety Team, dedicated to ensuring that cleanliness of all operations exceeds today’s travel standards—from start to finish. The following areas address Globus’ commitment to providing a safe and clean environment for our guests.

GLOBUS SMALL GROUPS, BIG EXPERIENCES.

Globus makes it easy to explore the world with calm and confidence with Small Group Discoveries available in many destinations. With an average of 24 guests per departure (in some cases even fewer), there’s always room to roam with extra space between you and other travelers—while still getting up close to fascinating attractions and the stories that make experiences feel personal and connected.

As part of their Health & Safety protocols, travelers will need to provide one of the following in order to travel:

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination at least 14 days prior to travel
  • Proof of a negative COVID-19 test (NAAT/PCR or antigen) result within 72-hours of travel
  • Proof of recovery from a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis within three (3) months of travel

In addition to unveiling new COVID-19 parameters required at the start of each vacation departure, the Globus family of brands announced that they will facilitate – and cover – additional COVID-19 testing, if required, for guests to return to their home country, as well as tests on trip if guests show symptoms.

On arrival for your trip, you’ll receive a warm welcome by your Globus Tour Director. A travel expert who’s ready, willing and able to ensure that you have a healthy and happy journey with us—here’s how:

  • They’re trained on Globus’ enhanced health and safety protocols
  • They’re supported 24/7 by local offices, who are well-equipped to handle on-trip issues
  • They have extensive local knowledge to help navigate your destination safely, including helping you avoid long lines and crowds, where and whenever possible
  • Tour Directors and local guides wear face masks when with guests, while drivers will have approved PPE headgear, ensuring the spread of joy, not germs.

Globus’ enhanced welcoming procedures are in place, ensuring guests have a safe start to their journey. These procedures include:

  • Mandatory health screening, including touch-free temperature-check, for all guests, Tour Directors and drivers. If you have a high temperature or are feeling sick, your Tour Director will assist in finding local medical facilities.
  • Direction and details on social distancing throughout the journey.
  • Luggage disinfection each time it’s loaded or unloaded onto the motorcoach.

Globus will continue to review and update Assurance initiatives as they make their return to the world, including adhering to – and building upon – the standards set forth by travel and health agencies across the globe, including the European Centre for Disease Prevention (ECDC), the U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA).

Information and protocols included here are subject to change based on local requirements and may be changed.
