Insight Vacations Country Roads of Northern Italy Tour Review

2214

I recently had the opportunity to experience the Insight Vacations Country Roads of Northern Italy tour.  This was my first time traveling with Insight Tour Vacations and they certainly do go the “extra mile.”  From their extra leg room on coaches to the wonderful hotels they use, the trip was probably the best escorted motor coach trip I have ever experienced. Not only were the cities visited exciting, but the itinerary was run perfectly, starting with the city of Milan, then continuing onto a few less popular towns like Verona and Trento and once again into Venice, another very popular city. Sirmione and Como were next and then we went off the beaten path to the Italian Lakes. The included excursions kept my interest piqued with a visit to the home of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. We climbed the Dolomites to Cortina D’Ampezzo, one of Italy’s exclusive ski resorts, with time to shop and enjoy the fabulous scenery. We also traveled through Prosecco Country to take part in a wine tasting event at Carmina. The lake areas were magnificent with well-chosen hotels and had the alps for a backdrop in every picture. Our tour guide was fabulous, explaining every region as we entered and she, herself, made us feel very special with highlights such as a drink of Aperol to perk us up after touring and a gelato when visiting a hot and humid beach area. The optional experiences were well thought out for each region and competitively priced.

The Insight tour guide was also very knowledgeable, which made the trip even more memorable.  I highly recommend this trip for someone that has been to other parts of Italy including Rome and Florence, just to get more of the full experience in such an incredible country.

There is currently not a video for the Country Roads of Northern Italy trip, but the Country Roads of Italy below will give you an idea of what to expect on an Insight Tour of Italy.
