Something else that many travelers do not realize is that Trafalgar offers some amazing extensions to these South America tours.  You can choose from the Peruvian Amazon, the Brazilian Amazon, Highlights of Peru, Easter Island, the Northern Galapagos or the Central Galapagos Islands.

The Peruvian Amazon package is 5 days and can be added at the beginning of the Highlights of Peru tour as well as the Conquistadors, Sacred Valleys and Inca Mysteries or the Land of the Incas vacations.  The trip begins and ends in Lima with visits to Puerto Maldonado and then you spend 3 nights at the Hotel Corto Maltes Amazonia for up close sightseeing in the Amazon. You may spot a number of wildlife including monkeys, birds, giant river otters, black caimans or perhaps the elusive anaconda.

The Brazilian Amazon vacation is a 4 night extension that can be added at the beginning of the Best of South America, South America Revealed or the Cultures and Contrasts of South America.  You fly to Manaus where you will stay at the Tropical Manaus hotel for 1 night, and then 2 nights at the ECOPARK Jungle Lodge.  Expect to see lots of interesting wildlife.

The Highlights of Peru 7 day extension can be added at the end of the Cultures and Contrasts of South America.  It begins and end in Lima with visits to Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu.

Easter Island is available at the end of the Highlights of Peru, Conquistadors, Sacred Valleys and Inca Mysteries, Land of the Incas, Best of South America, South America Revealed or the Cultures and Contrasts of South America.  It is a 4 day package staying at the Taha Tai Hotel with lots of time to explore this interesting culture.

The Northern Galapagos 7 day package is available as an add on to Land of the Incas and Conquistadors or the Sacred Valleys and Inca Mysteries. Sail on the mv Santa Cruz, with visits to James Island, Jervis Island, Tower/Genovesa Island and San Cristobal Island.

The Central Galapagos 7 day package is available as an add on to the Highlights of Peru, South America Revealed or Cultures & Contrasts of South America. Visits Santa Cruz Island, James Island and Baltra.
