Viator:  Travel like a local when you use this awesome app, designed to make you feel like a VIP. It handpicks the top local tour and activity providers virtually everywhere in the world, backed by traveler reviews and photos. It even gives VIP status to its customers by offering discounts and private tours only given to Viator users!

PinPin ATM Finder:  There is almost nothing worse than getting in a petty cab and realizing you don’t have any more dough to pay the driver! Don’t get stuck in some foreign place without any cash on you. PinPin will help you find the nearest ATM, and with 220 countries listed on the app, chances are you won’t have to go without cash for long.

Wi-Fi Map:  Since most of us can’t go without internet for more than about 30 minutes, this app is essential for anywhere you plan to travel. Weather Pro:  This app is a total must-have! With to-the-minute weather updates in over two million geographical locations—including atmospheric pressure and humidity—you’ll never feel unprepared for anything Mother Nature may throw at you.

PackPoint:  You’ll feel like you have your own personal assistant if you use this app to help you pack. You just put in where you’re traveling, for how long, and with who, and it gives you suggested lists of what you’ll need and how much of it—everything from clothes to gadgets and passports. You can even have the whole family packed and ready to go, as the app offers separate custom lists for multiple travelers.

Tripadvisor:  Read reviews, get inspiration, organize your trip and book excursions. 

Travelsafe Pro:   This app can be a real lifesaver! It gives a complete database of emergency service numbers for almost everywhere in the world, and also embassy details should passports go missing. It can act as the quickest access point to police, ambulances and fire engines.

Instagram:  It goes without saying that if you plan on taking photos on your trip (who doesn’t??) you MUST post them to your Instagram account. This incredibly popular app takes your ordinary pictures and makes them look totally professional—adding your pick of filters and fancy borders. It even links with your Facebook and Twitter accounts, so you can share with everyone!

RV Life:  This free app is great for finding RV parks and campgrounds as well as rest areas, gas stations and stores.  The parks are sorted by rating and ist the available amenities.

OMIO:  Book flights, trains, buses and ferries in real-time from your smartphone.  They have added COVID-19 travel disruption information as well making it an invaluable travel app.

Roadtrippers:  For those of you who prefer to take the scenic route, this app will help you navigate the lay of the land on any road trip. Just put it your starting point and destination, and it will give all kinds of suggestions for places worth stopping along the way including food options, roadside attractions, and scenic stops.

Hopstop:  If you plan on going to any metropolitan city, this app is a must-have! It helps any tourist easily navigate public transportation, displaying stop-by-stop itinerary and detour updates in over 70 cities.

Tipulator:  End the bad tipping reputation tourists have developed with the Tipulator app. It will tell you exactly what’s kosher in the way of tipping (or not tipping in some cultures) so you don’t ever have to be afraid of offending your waiter!
