Getting Around
There is a rapid transit bus system (the BRT Transcarioca) that connects the airports to downtown Rio. Starting next month there will also be a light-rail system, known as the VLT, that will be available as well,

Purchases
Cash is accepted for purchases inside of the park. Visa credits cards will also be accepted.

Tips
-The hardest tickets to get are for sports such as gymnastics, swimming and track and field. If you just want to enjoy being at the Olympics and don’t have a favorite sport that you must see, opt for fencing or handball.

-Determine where the events are being held ahead of time and figure out how to get there. Because of the crowds, it may be difficult to try to navigate the area, especially if you are pressed on time. Don’t try to cut it too close between two events.

-You can avoid the crowds after the Olympics by either skipping the Closing Ceremonies or sightseeing for a day or two after the Olympics is over before trying to catch a flight.
