Beer And St. Patrick’s Day

1372

St. Patrick’s Day is almost here and it’s time to talk about beer! You don’t have to go to Ireland to enjoy this holidays. Many Americans take part in some of the festivities found throughout the United States. Here’s everything that you need to know about beer and how to choose the right one.

By The Numbers
Around 13 million pints of Guinness beer is consumed on St. Patrick’s Day. That’s enough beer to fill two Olympic sized swimming pools as well as over 600 hot tubs. This makes it the 4th most popular holiday to drink behind New Year’s Eve, Christmas and the 4th of July. Around 30% of Americans will visit a bar or restaurant on St. Patrick’s Day.

Choosing The Right Beer
One of the most important parts of St. Patrick’s Day is choosing the right beer of course! The official beer of this holiday is the Guinness Draught Irish Dry Stout. If you want to try something different, you should probably go with a stout. The key to the right beer is that it has to be something you can drink pretty much all day without getting too full or overly intoxicated. After all, how can you enjoy your corned beef and hash if you can’t even stomach it?
