Luxury Hostels Are The New Trend

When you hear the word ‘hostel’, luxury doesn’t often come to mind. Despite this, these dormitory style accommodations are now becoming trendy. Why is that? Well, in part is has to do with the fact that owners are now making them become more luxurious. Here are several reasons why luxury hostels are the new trend.

Travelers Want Affordability Without Sacrificing Luxury
One of the things that holds people back from being able to afford their dream vacation is the amount they would have to pay for decent accommodations. Luxury hostels change that. They allow travelers to not sacrifice luxury, but not have to pay an arm and a leg for it at the same time.

It’s No Longer Frowned Upon
For years hostels were frowned upon. They were often associated with being broke or not being very safe. Owners of hostels have paved the way to change the way travelers think about them. Many owners have turned their dismal hostels into luxurious accommodations. If you think about it, it’s very cost efficient for the owner. Sure they will have so shell out some money upfront, but in the long run they can charge a little bit more and up their bookings in the process.

Staying At A Luxury Hostel Is Part Of The Adventure
Having a travel adventure, somewhat outside of the box, can be part of the fun. For those who have had a unique experience on a vacation, they will have bragging rights for years to come with their friends and family members. Because luxury hostels are just now becoming trendy, not many travelers can say that they’ve stayed at one.

What Makes Hostels Luxurious?
Unlike hotels, hostel owners don’t have to make a lot expensive upgrades in order to make the hostel luxurious. It can be simple things like upgrading lockers so that they are large enough to fit suitcases, outfitting bathrooms with high end decor and linens, offering free Wifi in both common areas and dormitories, installing privacy curtains on bunk beds and reading lamps so that guests have their own private lights. Even preparing a continental breakfast that features fairly cheap food, like pancakes and biscuits, can be enough to make travelers happy.

Who Are They Becoming Trendy With?
Because of the dormitory style accommodations, hostels don’t tend to be popular with couples or those with children. Singles and young adults are the ones that often stay at hostels. For those that don’t have a lot of money, but don’t want to sacrifice comfort, luxury hostels are a great fit.
