After years of anticipation, the sprawling American Dream mega-mall will open on October 25, 2019. The massive, 13 million square foot complex is conveniently located a short distance from New York City off of the New Jersey Turnpike near the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The American Dream Meadowlands is easily accessible by car as well as a variety of public transportation options in and around NYC.
The American Dream Meadowlands will have a phased opening, with several attractions opening October 25, and more to follow before the holidays and later into 2020. American Dream Meadowlands is owned by Triple Five Group, the same owners of two of the other largest malls in North America, the Mall of America in Minnesota and Canada’s West Edmonton Mall. The mega-mall will consist of approximately 45% retail stores and 55% attractions and entertainment.
The $5 billion retail and entertainment complex won the Best Futura Shopping Center Award from MAPIC, an international retail real estate and show held in France every November, well before it was even completed.
