Bucket List for Summer Travel

Summer’s here and it’s time to get in some traveling and experiencing new places. Looking for something to do this summer? Check out our list of bucket list travel experiences.

-Pull out a map and a go on a road trip. Pick a place that’s within driving distance and research how to get there and what there is to do once you are there.

-Visit Grand Manan Island to do some whale watching. It’s not uncommon for curious humpback whales to come within feet of boaters.

-Go hiking in a national park. If you are feeling particularly adventurous you can also do some camping.

-Compete in a race in another state. Even if you aren’t much of a runner, there are numerous races where you can walk or even fun competitions like mud or color runs.

-Visit a beach town. You can work on your sandcastle building skills or just take a nap on a beach towel while listening to the waves rolling in. Despite it being the summer, you may even be able to score a decent hotel rate.

-Take a cruise. With it being the summer, there are a lot of different cruises to choose from. There’s everything from a 3-4 night Caribbean vacations to a Europe itinerary that’s a week or two long.

-Visit a waterpark. It’s hot in the summer which makes it the perfect time to visit a waterpark.

-Head over to Central Park. There’s a lot to do here including having a picnic lunch or enjoying one of the many free events that tend to pop up during the summer months.

-Go to a baseball game in a different city. Baseball is in full force this time of year and you’re bound to find a baseball game going on in a city nearby. If you aren’t into crowds or paying high ticket prices, take in a minor league game. You’ll have just as much fun and save a few bucks.

-Go jet skiing on a lake. Don’t own a boat? Many lakes have boat rentals onsite and even professionals to teach you how to jet ski.

-Ride a ferris wheel. A lot of cities have pop up fairs and festivals during the summer that include carnival rides like ferris wheels. Looking for even more rides? Check out an amusement park like Six Flags that has various locations throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
