We do not have any information on when the dates for the other USA tours or Latin America tours will be released. We are keeping up with the situation and will update the tours on our site as soon as the dates are released.

Did caravan tours go out of business? Is caravan tours still in business ?
No, they did not go out of business. As a matter of fact, 2022 is the 70th anniversary of Caravan tours.
Unfortunately, with COVID-19 came a lot of changes for the travel industry. As one of the oldest tour operators in the United States, Caravan Tours is no stranger to the difficulty that any travel bans might bring. Because of this, the company cancelled 2021 departures.
We can submit early registrations on a 2022 Caravan tour to secure your spot.

Caravan Tours COVID-19 Response
For safety, Caravan cancelled all remaining tours in 2021. Caravan was issuing a full refund of all payments received for these cancelled tours. This full refund includes any premium payments made for the Caravan Travel Protection Plan (if unused). If preferred, you can transfer payments to a 2022 tour.

Costa Rica Natural Paradise – no dates for 2022 announced yet

Returning in 2022 is Caravan Tours’ iconic Costa Rica Natural Paradise tour. More than most Caravan tour packages, this one includes a focus on wildlife with tours of the Fortuna Wildlife Rescue Center, Leatherback Turtle Park in Guanacaste, and both a bird-watching cruise and tour of Manuel Antonio National Park. Opportunities for relaxation will also be plenty available with a planned butterfly garden tour and a volcanic hot spring soak at the Cano Negro wildlife refuge.
Guatemala with Tikal, Atitlán and Antigua – no dates for 2022 announced yet

With memorable cities like Guatemala City, Antigua, and Quiragua on the itinerary. Included will be visits to sites of historical significance like Guatemala City’s archaeology museum, Quiragua’s archaeological site, the Tikal Ruins, and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Antigua. This tour has more limited availability for select dates in each month except August and September.
Panama Canal Cruise, Rainforests & Beaches – no dates for 2022 announced yet

A staple of Caravan’s yearly line-up, Panama Canal Cruise, Rainforests & Beaches provides travelers with a beautiful excursion through one of the most iconic Latin American destinations available. Cruise the iconic Panama Canal from Old Panama up to Gatun Lake before checking out Playa Bonita, which literally translates to “Pretty Beach” and is no misnomer. Please note, September is the most popular time for this tour and sells out quickly each year.
Caravan’s 2022 Travel Protection Plan
Price increase for 2022. Caravan offers peace of mind if you cancel for any reason whatsoever prior to the departure of the tour. The travel protection plan also includes air, baggage, evacuation and medical coverage. The cost is $129. Caravan’s optional Travel Protection provides a full refund of your tour price, less the $129 premium and less a deductible of $100 per person, for cancellations made for any reason.
Cancellations made within 7 days prior to the start of your tour will incur an additional $50 per person administrative fee.
Refunds for missed days on tour are based on the actual cost of services not used, less any extra expenses incurred by Caravan, and are not on a per day basis. Single supplement upgrades due to cancellation by a roommate and travel agent commissions are not covered.
You must purchase Travel Protection with your initial tour deposit/payment or no later than your final payment to be eligible for Cancel For Any Reason. Cancel For Any Reason is a non insurance feature.
