This year there have been around 20 new roller coasters debuted in the United States. Each one of them offering more thrills than the next. If you are ready to scream your head off and have fun while doing it, check out one of these four new roller coasters, perhaps in a city near you.
Aqua Rocket Water Coaster, Ranging Waters Park, Near Los Angeles
This southern California roller coaster, is quite different than other coasters in the area because it features water. It’s 1,000 feet long and goes as fast as 30 miles per hour. Riders get in a four person raft and they make their way down the track in a twisting and turning fashion with both uphill and downhill portions. Since this is a water roller coaster, riders should expect to get very wet.
Thunderbird, Holiday World, Santa Clause
This roller coaster was recently added to Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana. The track is more than 3,000 feet long with a height of 140 feet at the top. Riders go from 0-60 miles per hour in under 4 seconds. Riders get to experience a lot of “near misses” of objects which adds to the thrill of the ride.
Fury 325, Carowinds, New Charlotte
The Fury 325 roller coaster, which opened in March is a welcome addition to Carowinds with Thunder Roads being retired in July. Its 325 feet high, with a 6,602 foot long track. The coaster reaches a whopping 95 miles per hour. It goes so fast in fact that riders momentarily lift off of their seats, a few inches, several times throughout the ride. One of the most thrilling parts of the ride is flying through a narrow tunnel and narrowly missing objects.
Justice League: Battle For Metropolis, Six Flags, near Dallas and St. Louis
This roller coaster is a new addition to both Six Flags St. Louis and Six Flags Over Texas. It combines not only the wild ride of a roller coaster, but many superheroes including Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman. It takes riders on a wild adventure as they try to destroy both Lex Luthor and The Joker with laser blasters. The ride is in 4D and each rider gets their own laser blaster.
If these roller coasters aren’t enough for you, don’t worry because there will be quite a few new roller coasters debuting in 2016 as well. These include Mako at Sea World in Orlando, Cobra’s Curse at Busch Gardens in Tampa and Starliner at Miracle Strip Pier Park in Panama Beach.
