  • Starting July 8, U.S. travelers to Hawaii will no longer be subject to pre-travel testing and quarantine requirements if they show proof of Covid-19 vaccination. We have extensive information on our Hawaii Travel updates post.
  • Budget airline French Bee will offer direct flights between Newark and Paris starting July 15th which fares as cheap at $129 each way including a 26-pound carry-on. All seats on the airline’s fleet of Airbus A350s include USB and electrical ports, headphone plugs, and in-flight entertainment including movies, music, and TV shows.
  • Macy’s 4th of July fireworks are back after being cancelled in 2020 due to COVID. You can attend in person along the East River and select spots along the waterfront in Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. or for those watching from home, the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular will be shown on NBC from 8 to 10 p.m. ET and PT, and 7 to 9 p.m. CT and MT. 
  • Universal Studios announced they will have 51 days & nights of holidays festivities. Starting November 113th the theme park will have holiday celebrations and decorations at Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, CityWalk and resort hotels.
  • Thailand’s most popular island, Phuket reopens to vaccinated international travelers. Other areas of Thailand including Bangkok had already been open.
  • U.S. National parks are seeing record numbers of visitors this year. Yellowstone had a record-breaking month in May, with an 11% increase over 2019. Grand Teton also set a staggering May record with more than 363,700 visitors up 30% from 2019.

  • Crystal Releases Full Lineup of 2021 Crystal River Cruises. Crystal Cruises cancelled its Antigua and St. Maarten sailings on the Crystal Symphony and said it plans to redeploy the ship closer to the U.S.

  • Carnival Cruise Corp has had several ships approved by the CDC for their return including the Carnival Breeze, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Vista, Majestic Princess & Nieuw Amsterdam. They will all be cruising with 95% of guests vaccinated.
  • American Queen Steamboat Company is easing its Covid-19 restrictions. Beginning July 1st vaccinated guests will no longer be required to wear a mask onboard.

Tour Operator News & Deals

  • CIE Tours has successfully operated group tours in Iceland and starting August, CIE Tours will run group departures in Ireland and Italy. CIE Tours is extending their $800 per person savings on Guided Coach Tours and Custom Private Driver Vacations for all bookings deposited through July 31st.
  • Globus Tours 2022 and Globus Tours 2023 are on sale. Get 10% off on Europe, North America & South America vacations. Globus has also resumed tours in the U.S., Europe and Galapagos for 2021.
  • Trafalgar Tours is offering up to 20% off select 2021 trips. You can also save up to 15% on 2022 and 2023 Trafalgar tours.
  • Tauck Tours restarted full operations of 2021 itineraries for August and September. Tauck said it anticipates “operating more than 80 percent of its pre-pandemic portfolio of tours and cruises this year, with a full return of all itineraries slated for 2022.”
