Is you in-flight tv on the fritz or worse yet there is no tv available? Row 44, Inc., the company that provides the world’s leading in-flight broadband entertainment platform for commercial airlines, made an announcement that they are launching the first-of-its-kind service with several partners to deliver live Internet Protocol television (aka IPTV,) in-flight to passenger’s smart phones, lab tops and tablet devices. How cool is that?
Business and news junkies will love the selection of channels. You have CNBC, MSNBC, Fox News, BBC World News, VERSUS and Bloomberg Television. Of course the service will not be free, so it is another way for airlines to make money, but we suspect business travelers will gladly pay, particularly on longer flights in order to stay informed. No word yet on what the charge will be.
