World’s Most Romantic Hotels

Love is in the air, with Valentine’s Day just around the corner.  Trip Advisor just released their list of Travelers’ Choice Romantic hotels in both the United States and abroad. This list was based on millions of reviews from travelers around the world.

In the U.S., Hawaii has 2 of the top 10 hotels, and California has 3. Perhaps the most surprising result was the #2 spot being taken by Starfish Manor Oceanfront Hotel in Lincoln City Oregon, and the Inn of the Dove in Bensalem, Pennsylvania was number 3.

As far as romantic hotels internationally, 2 of the top 10 were in Bora Bora, 1 in Moorea, 1 in Motu Ome’e and 2 in Fiji, so the French Polynesia region took up 60% of the top 10. You can see the full list on Trip Advisor’s website.

We were surprised that no hotels in Europe made the list. Paris and Venice are among the most romantic cities in Europe. Stroll along the stylish cafes and markets of Paris, and then watch as the iconic Eiffel Tower looks even more beautiful as night falls and the lights begin to glitter.  Have dinner at a quaint restaurant, take a gondola ride along the Grand Canal, and then share a dance under the stars to a live orchestra in Piazza San Marco while in Venice, Italy.  Explore the hillside towns of Tuscany, each offering their own local wines and unique shops and romantic scenery.  Santorini, in the Greek Islands offers some of the most amazing vistas in all of Europe.  You can relax at the beach, visit a local winery or take in a meal while you watch the sunset over the Mediterranean sea. I could go on and on about all the romantic places in Europe.

It goes to show that many of us define romance differently. Some want to lounge on a beach or private bungalow without a care in the world, while others prefer to sit by a fire after a day of skiing. Discover exciting cities in Europe, take a road trip or a cruise.  The point is that travel is a great way to rekindle a relationship, and has even proven to be beneficial for your health.  Get out there and explore the world together and discover the romance of travel.
