Shanghai Disneyland is set to open on June 6. Even though the park isn’t open yet, it still has faced some issues. The government has tried to curb some unruly behavior by issuing an etiquette guide. Here is more information about this guide as well as some of the issues that the park has had to deal with already.
6 Rules That Should Be Followed
To keep parkgoers in line, they must not demonstrate any of these uncivilized behaviors:
-Rowdiness
-Vandalizm
-Littering
-Uncouth Behaviors, Including Lying On The Ground
-Cutting In Line
-Damaging The Park, Including It’s Landscape
Parkgoers who demonstrate any of this behavior may get kicked out of the park. Since tickets have been hard to come by, the threat of having to leave the park may be enough to keep visitors in line.
Scalpers
Tickets for the park went on sale in March. Scalpers purchased many of these tickets and jacked up the prices. Since the tickets sold out within hours and no more tickets are available for several weeks after the park plans to officially open, a lot of people have sought out tickets from these scalpers.
Damages
When the metro station of the park opened in April, visitors hopped on board to try to get into the park early to see what it’s all about. Unfortunately, what they ended up doing was damaging areas around the gates of the park which cost Disney quite a bit of money to make all of the necessary repairs. To try to be prepared for what happens when the park actually opens, the park had a soft launch in May that allowed invited guests, staff and their relatives to attend. Even during that event there were crowds gathered outside of the gates just to get a peak as to what’s going on inside. To handle the massive crowds that will surely be on hand when the park actually opens, the park has held emergency crowd control drills.
It’s a shame that before the park has even opened it has experienced destruction as there’s supposed to be a lot of unique attractions for visitors to see. This includes 12 Disney and Pixar characters that are re-imagined from Chinese zodiacs. There will also be the first Mandarin version in the world of “The Lion King” musical. Shanghai Disney will be the first theme park for Disney to open in the past 10 years.
