At this time, Jamaica does require a negative COVID-19 or antigen test less than 1- days prior to travel. The test must be conducted by a medical laboratory with one of the following credentials: Accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP); Registered by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) or one that has ISO 15189 certification.

Four types of tests are accepted:

  • A Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction Test (RT-PCR)
  • A Nucleic Acid Amplification test (NAA)
  • An RNA or molecular test
  • An Antigen test

Results cannot be from a COVID home-base test kit and antibody tests are not accepted.

Once you have your results, you need to apply for travel authorization. All applications will be assessed immediately, with the outcome given onscreen and also sent to your registered email. The authorization will need to be printed and presents at the time of boarding your flight. There is no cost for this process.

Jamaica vacation packages for the summer months are selling out since hotels are at a reduced capacity, so book early. There are plenty of hotels with flexible cancellation policies for enhanced safety and peace of mind.
