The CDC is urging all Americans to avoid travel in general due to the rising cases of COVID over the past month. If you do travel, the CDC recommends taking a COVID test 3 days prior to travel. They also suggest always wearing a face mask in public places, & to stay home for 7 days after travel. So is it safe to travel to Mexico? Airlines and hotels have added health & safety protocols, but each individual has to assess their health, budget, and family situation to decide if and when they feel comfortable enough to travel. It’s always a good idea to consult your physician as well.

There are plenty of tourists enjoying stretches of beaches at major resorts in Mexico that are only at 30% capacity. Los Cabos, Mexico has been one of the strictest resort destinations in Mexico during the Covid-19 pandemic. It has maintained one of the slowest and most stringent recovery procedures in the country. Los Cabos continues to maintain its steadfast protocols and expecting to make a full recovery in international visitors by the close of 2021.

Everything must shut down by midnight, including hotel service. Los Cabos Airport has hired 25 new employees with the specific task to advise visitors through the process of going through the airport, including filling out forms and maintaining safety. At peak times 20 immigration officers will expedite the clearing of immigration to alleviate the feeling of a cramped area. Los Cabos has teamed up with a third-party health and safety assurance program to maintain high standards. Los Cabos is considered a luxury destination with many unique things offered, such as private astronomy tours, lectures with biologists, and deep-dive experiences.

Cancun and the Riviera Maya have always been popular vacation destinations.  As part of the reopening process, these destinations were conservative operating at a 60% capacity.
