Cool Hotel Amenities

Why settle for just fluffy robes and free coffee when you are at a hotel? Some hotel chains offer quite a few interesting perks to try to draw in travelers. Here’s a list of some of our favorite ones.

Puppy Concierges
When checking in at the Kimpton, guests are greeted by several puppies. This program started at the end of 2000 when the Director of Sales and Marketing at Hotel Monaco Denver, brought her Jack Russell Terrier, Lily to work each day. It turns out that guests loved seeing her so much that the hotel chain decided to start a pet concierge program.

Pet Psychic
Speaking of pets, Hotel Monaco in Portland has a unique service available for pets and their owners. They have a complimentary wine hour where guests and their pets meet with a pet psychic to discuss any behavioral problems they are having. Supposedly this service helps build a strong relationship between owner and pet. Although the pets can’t indulge in the wine like their owners, they usually do have some special treats on hand for them.

What’s Your Wish
At the W Hotel chains, guests can take part in the What’s Your Wish program. Basically what it is, is a service where guests can request some outrageous requests. Anything from a last minute party to a hotel room filled with balloons. If the hotel can make it happen, they will. However, all requests have to be legal.

24-Carat Gold iPads
Many people have iPads nowadays, but not a lot of them have gold ones. Dubai’s Burj Al Arab provides guests, upon check-in, a 24- carat Gold iPad to use during their stay. Unfortunately, the iPads must be returned upon check-out.

Surf Butler
Surfing definitely isn’t as easy as it looks. The St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Beach, California is offering a butler of sorts to help guests learn how to surf. This butler not only helps them conquer the waves, but will also take the guest’s measurements beforehand to help them find the perfect board and wetsuit. Afterwards they provide them with personalized instruction. For those guests who are already experienced surfers they will give them tips and as well as the local wave conditions.

Fragrance Butler
Even on vacation you want to smell good. Rosewood hotels now offer a fragrance butler at select hotels. This butler comes to a guest’s suite with a menu of different fragrances for them to choose from. Some of the more popular fragrances include Tom Ford for Men and Chanel No. 5.

So, if you are going to go on vacation, you might as well enjoy some great hotel perks. These are just some of the cool amenities that some hotels are now offering. Do you know of any great hotel amenities?
