Have you ever thought of how nice it would be to have a whole island just to yourself? You’re probably thinking that it would be out of your budget. There are actually some private islands that you might be able to afford to spend a night or two at, including the following five islands.

This small island has some of the most exquisite accommodations in south Florida. The resort has a marina where private boats can dock at, a pool and plenty of water activities. There’s also plenty to do in Key West if you want to take the trip down there for the day. Guests have to be 16 and up to stay at this private island.
Lighthouse Grebeni
Location: Southern Croatia

This private island is about a 2 ½ mile boat ride off of Croatia’s cost. The accommodations are in a lighthouse, which consists of modestly furnished bedrooms plus a living and kitchen area. There isn’t really a beach here, but guests can still go in the ocean to swim. What makes this location so sought after for visitors is the ultimate pampering that guests received. All their needs are taken care of and a private butler can even be hired if desired.
Caye Chapel Island Resort
Location: Belize
Average Price Per Night: Starts at $200
This 250 acre resort only allows 50 guests per night. While it might not be totally private, it still allows for an intimate time. There are over two miles of beaches available for guests to soak up the sun at or take a swim in the ocean. The resort has a fitness center and spa as well as an onsite restaurant. There’s also an 18-hole golf course and tennis courts. A favorite activity among visitors is “coconut bowling”. The island has its own private airstrip so visitors can fly in directly from Belize International Airport.
Lake Malaren
Location: Sweden, near Stockholm
Average Price Per Night: $2,000 for the weekend
This small little island focuses on luxury. Accommodations are tastefully furnished in a Scandinavian style. There’s a sauna for visitors to enjoy as well as a small boat available to use for those that have a boating license. Despite the $2,000 a weekend price tag, that’s actually very affordable as the island can accommodate up to 8 people at one time.
Pusser’s Marina Cay
Location: British Virgin Islands
Average Price Per Night: Starting At $150
Just off the east end of Tortola lies the little island of Marina Cay. It has a small 8-bedroom hotel, restaurant and bar. Marina Cay is truly one of the most beautiful sites in the Caribbean. This 8-acre island is surrounded by sandy beaches. This is a great place to snorkel as there are plenty of beautiful fish and a coral reef. Families tend to be drawn to this island as it’s a very safe place to roam about and enjoy the area. An award winning restaurant called, Pusser’s Restaurant is also located on the island. Visitors can enjoy traditional Caribbean fare or seafood.
If you are looking to splurge a little bit, you should consider spending a few nights at one of the private islands listed above. Even though it may require you to save for a bit, the experience will prove to be worth all the sacrifices made to get there.
