Celebrity Cruise Line just revealed information about the new Celebrity Edge cruise ship. Celebrity’s new class of ships offers innovative design, and technology not seen on any other cruise ship. Sister ship, Celebrity Beyond will set sail in the Spring of 2018, followed by 2 more Edge-class ships coming in 2021 and 2022.

Let’s start with the Magic Carpet.  An incredible feat of engineering, the ship will offer the world’s first cantilevered, floating platform.  Pictured here, you will see a deck the hovers off the Edge of the ship which will move upon and down along a vertical track.  When on Deck 2, the Magic Carpet will be used for disembarkation.  During the day it will stop on Deck 5 where you can enjoy lunch.  In the afternoon the Magic Carpet moves to deck 14 to extend the pool area and may offer a DJ.  In the evenings, the Magic Carpet anchors on Deck 16 and will offer fine dining.

Infinite Verandas – Another cruise industry first, the Celebrity Edge cruise ship, with the touch of a button, the glass on your verandah goes down, and the balcony becomes part of your stateroom.  “Not only do these staterooms feature the latest in design and technology, but they’re 23% larger than our award-winning Solstice® Class veranda staterooms.”  Exclusive Cashmere Collection℠ bedding and mattresses handcrafted in Italy. With Celebrity Edge, the focus is always on modern luxury—even when you sleep. The Edge will have some verandah cabins for Singles. Perfectly proportioned for the individual traveler, it’s spacious, stylish. Singular. Just like Celebrity Edge.

Enhance Suite Experience:

Every suite guest will have access to the new Retreat area.  The Retreat area will offer a sundeck, full sized pull, hot tub and dedicated pool butlers.

Beyond its outdoor spaces, there’s The Retreat Lounge—a space available 24/7 for beverages, gourmet bites, and live entertainment. Here, you’ll have access to an exclusive concierge who’ll make any arrangements you need, from ship to shore.

Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Luminae @ The Retreat is a boldly elegant restaurant with an interior as distinctive as the menus. The modern, eclectic cuisine served here is crafted by our Michelin-starred chef, and not available anywhere else on board.

All indulgent. All complimentary. And all exclusive to Suite Class guests on Celebrity Edge.

Resort Deck:  The Resort deck is made up of an asymmetrical pool deck, two story martini shaped hot tubs, private cabanas, an adult only Solarium and a rooftop garden.  Collectively, the Resort Deck is unlike any other outdoor space at sea—or on earth. There is a 25 yard lap pool, 2, two story martini hot tubs and spacious private cabanas.

One of the most carefree Resort Deck spaces is the Rooftop Garden—a living urban playscape inspired by childhood playgrounds. Brought to life with the help of architect Tom Wright, it’s a lively, spacious environment perfect for slowing down, wandering, and daydreaming.  This area will be used for cocktails and casual meals during the day, and then live music or movies in the evenings.

Suites:  The Celebrity Edge cruise ship will also offer several categories of suites including Penthouses (1,378 sq. ft.,) Iconic Suites (2,581 sq. ft.) and 6 floating Edge villas (950 sq. ft.) with private plunge pools and direct access to the Solarium sun deck. The unique design of the Edge Villas seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor living. With two stories of windows that look out over the terrace (featuring a three-feet-deep plunge pool and inviting lounge furniture) to the incredible ocean views beyond, it’s an open and airy environment that truly invites the outside in, and vice versa. The mattresses are from Italy and are made of Eucalyptus treated cashmere. Guests will enjoy Bulgari bath amenities, butler service and a complimentary bar set up.

The entire ships will have modern technology where guests can either use a wrist band or phone app to everything from unlocking their cabin doors to paying for onboard expenses.

Celebrity’s visionary design raises the bar on cruise vacations to even greater heights. The team of world-class designers, that were new to the cruise ship design industry were chosen because Celebrity wanted to ensure every aspect of Edge would be a departure from traditional thinking about cruising.
