AmaWaterways is adding Egypt to its Black heritage river cruises. The “Soulful Epicurean Experience on the River” will expand to Egypt beginning May 17, 2024. The African and Black diaspora will be explored while sailing on the 11-night Secrets Egypt & the Nile itinerary aboard the AmaDahlia offering Egypt River Cruises.

A three-night pre-cruise or one-night post-cruise land tour in Cairo will be available on this itinerary.

Egypt’s Black history will be explored through visits to local communities, focusing on regional cuisine and offering curated shore excursions. A visit to a Nubian village is included, where guests will meet the locals who continue to carry on the traditions of their Egyptian ancestors. Guests will see the classic wonders of Egypt’s ancient civilization with the cruise sailing from Luxor, visiting the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Valley of the Kings and Queens and Karnak and Luxor temples.

AmaWaterways has added two new 2024 dates to France’s Soulful Epicurean Experience cruise series. Set sail on the 10-night Colors of Provence itinerary on June 13, cruising from Arles to Lyon and ending with a three-night stay in Paris or sail the June 17th departure, which does the same itinerary in reverse, beginning with the three-night stay in Paris.

The river cruise line is offering a three-night post-cruise package in Paris commemorating the city’s Black history, heritage and culture. This is a curated experience connecting Black travelers to each other and to international destinations rich with African-American history and the perfect way to celebrate the heritage, traditions and cultures of the global family.

Board the AmaKristina on August 24, 2023, and set sail from Arles to Lyon for AMA’s seven-night “Colors of Provence” itinerary. Begin the journey by exploring the cultural history of Marseille and sail through the South of France along the Rhone River to Lyon. Conclude the trip in Paris, where many Black artists, writers, and entertainers have made history. Guests will enjoy guided tours showcasing the region’s jazz, food, and wine, as well as live musical performances onboard and ashore. An excursion honoring Josephine Baker, the first Black woman inducted into France’s Pantheon mausoleum, and a “Black History of Paris” city tour along with a three-night stay at a luxury hotel.

The AmaKristina boasts spacious staterooms with twin balconies, a sun deck walking track, a swim-up bar, a main lounge and complimentary bicycles. See all that AMA Waterways has to offer.
