1624

There is no better time to get outdoors and be one with nature. Getting outside can have great health benefits and can give you the perfect time to unwind and unplug. Experience the national parks free for five days in 2022 – an added bonus.

Mark your calendars with free admission to everyone on these select dates

January 17: Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.

April 16: First day of National Park Week.

August 4: Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act.

September 24: National Public Lands Day.

November 1: Veterans Day.

There are more than 400 parks available for everyone to visit every day. The fee-free days happen every year, and it provides an excellent opportunity to visit a national park that typically charges an entrance fee. Please note that the waiver doesn’t cover amenity or user fees inside the park for activities such as boat launches, transportation, or special tours. Still, it is undoubtedly time to take advantage of the waived entrance fees. Read The Best Apps To Use When You Visit A National Park for more help.

Some national park fees are less expensive than others. Popular parks like Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, and Zion charge $35 per vehicle for a 7-day pass. Capitol Reef National Park in Utah is only $20 per vehicle, and more than 400 parks never charge entrance fees. For example, U.S. Great Smoky Mountains National Park never charges an entrance fee. We offer a large selection of National Park Tours. Keep in mind the most popular months from travel to the National Parks are April, May, and September when the weather is milder so book early.

Free and discounted passes are available at other times to seniors, current members of the military, families of fourth-grade students, and disabled citizens. In addition, America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Passes allow unlimited entrance to more than 2000 federal recreation areas for $80 annually.
