Smart Luggage

Do you know what happens when you combine luggage with some of the newest technology or innovations? Smart Luggage! This type of luggage can change the way we travel. It can make it easier to keep track of luggage, charge cell phones or even deal with making sure luggage isn’t too heavy to make it into its carryon compartment. Check out some of the smartest luggage around, maybe even coming to a retailer near you pretty soon.

LugLoc
This little gadget consists of a device that you put inside of your suitcase. It utilizes Bluetooth and GSM technology to help you keep track of your bag. So if your luggage ever gets lost or stolen you can easily find it. The device costs $70 and you will have to purchase the app to go along with it for $7 which allows you to trace your luggage 5 different times.

Planet Traveler SpaceCase 1
This is probably one of the most technologically advanced pieces of luggage coming out later this year. It has many features including global tracking, a power pack and a digital scale sensor that tells you how much the bag weighs without having to actually put it on the scale. Our favorite feature is the biometric lock that uses a fingerprint to open it. So even if it gets stolen the thieves probably won’t be able to open it before you track it down. A full-size bag is expected to cost $700 and a carry-on bag around $600.

Benga 2S Duo 2
This bag is supposed to be available this summer. It doesn’t use technology like some of the other devices or luggage on the list, but it has one very incredible feature: it can transform from one bag into two. Users can turn this hard-shell, four-wheeled suitcase into two different, two wheeled bags. This is great for those travelers that leave for their vacation with no need for a carryon bag, but decide they want to utilize a carryon on the way home. This bag is expected to cost about $400.

The Andiama iQ
Have you ever been stuck on the road and needed to charge your cellphone? The Andiama iQ can do just that and more. It has a USB battery charger, an anti-theft system that will send you an alert on your mobile phone if your bag move 30 meters or more away from you, a digital scale and a remote lock and unlock device. This bag is expected to be available this fall and will cost around $600.

Traveling never got easier thanks to all the innovations when it comes to luggage. Spending $700 on a bag may seem pricey, but may be well worth it if your bag ever gets lost or stolen or you need one of the conveniences that it offers.
