The much anticipated New Amara Cay Resort opened in Islamorada recently. This upscale resort underwent a renovation that cost millions of dollars. It’s located at mile marker 80 and provides guests with a subtropical vibe that can only be found in the Keys. Individuals staying at the resort can enjoy a truly relaxing experience at New Amara Cay Resort with everything it has to offer.

The Rooms
From the moment you walk into this resort you can tell that it’s different than any other accommodation type offered in Islamorada. The lobby features papasan chairs and an overall rustic feel. After guests have been checked in by one of the attentive staff members, they can make their way to their room. The resort has 88 standard rooms and 22 suites. Each one features plush pillows and bedding, ocean views and elegant furnishings. Each room is spacious and guests can enjoy their view of the Atlantic Ocean by stepping out on their own extended balcony.

Amenities
Guests are first greeted by bell staff so that they can attend to their luggage and other needs. There are local experts that roam around the resort that give advice on some of the areas activities to enjoy. Guests can enjoy the spa, heated fresh water pool or lounge in a hammock on the beach. The resort also has meeting rooms for those travelers that have business needs to attend too. The Glass Bowl meeting room can accommodate up to 60 guests and can be used not only for business purposes, but receptions as well. In addition to the resort’s offerings, guests can enjoy some of the many watersports that Islamorada offers such as surfing, snorkeling, fishing, boating and parasailing.

Dining
Oltremare Ristorante is sure to be the restaurant of choice for those visiting the New Amara Cay Resort. Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at this Italian inspired restaurant. Many of the menu items are from local farmers and the seafood is locally caught. For those that want a more causal experience, Sparrows Rum Bar is located by the pool and features cocktails and American cuisine.
