Gaming

Pax West

Where: Seattle, Washington

Any kid (or adult), would love this convention! It’s all about gaming and there are a ton of games available that can be played here before they have been released. Attendees can also visit with some of the pros in the gaming field and learn some tips and tricks to help them master their gaming skills. If you want to attend this convention you’ll have to be prepared to get your tickets quick! Some years tickets have sold out in as little as 30 minutes.

Comic Books

Comic Con

Where: New York City, New York

There are actually several locations where Comic Con is held, but for this post we will be talking about New York City’s convention. This is a great location for this event as many comic books feature New York City as their setting. Travelers from all over visit Comic Con here because not only can they enjoy the convention, but The Big Apple as well. There’s all sorts of items available for purchase including comic book related toys, video games and manga

Anime

Sakura-Con

Where: Seattle, Washington

All things anime related can be found at this convention. Attendees are pleased to find that they can purchase a good variety of different anime items imported right from Japan. Most of the 20,000+ attendees really get into this convention and dress up as different characters. For the kids there are events like karaoke contests. Later in the evening there are anime viewings that are geared strictly towards adults.

Girls Only

GeekGirlCon

Where: Seattle, Washington

A lot of people have the misconception that anime, comic books and fantasy related items are geared just towards the male population. That is simply not true and a lot of women and girls really get into these items as well. Fortunately, there is a convention geared just towards them. GeekGirlCon is a place where girls of all ages can gather together and find out about the latest games, books and movies. Despite the fact that this convention is only around 5 years old, it has become rather popular with attendees of both genders.

Star Trek

The Official Star Trek Convention

Where: Las Vegas, Nevada

Star Trek conventions are in a category of their very own. At this convention you will find a lot of V-handed hardcore fans that want to talk about Star Trek as much as they can. During the convention there are usually over 70 different Star Trek celebrities in attendance with some of them even performing for attendees. There’s also a huge vendor room where you can find any Star Wars item that you can imagine.
