With Christmas still a week away away you are probably starting to run out of ideas for your Elf On the Shelf. Don’t worry though because we have a few ideas for you, that are travel related of course! If you are needing something for your elf to do tonight here are a few ideas for you.
Put Him In An Airplane
This is an especially good idea if you are going on an airplane anytime soon. All you have to do is stick your elf in one of your children’s toy airplanes. Better yet, if your kids love airplanes and they don’t have a toy one, the elf’s plane can be an early Christmas present.
Make Snow Angels
You can easily tie in traveling to a wintery destination with your elf by having her make a snow angel. Simply put flour on your kitchen counter and lay your elf down in it. Move its arms and legs back and forth as if she were making a snow angel. Your kids will delight in your winter loving elf.
Make it Look Like Florida
If you live in a cold place, considering setting up a little beach scene with brown sugar and a strip of fabric for a towel.
Let Him Be Adventurous With A Zip Line
Throughout the world there are a lot of great places to zip line. Why not let your elf have some fun of his own and go on a zip line adventure…through your house! While this one may sound difficult it’s really not that complicated. All you need to do is take a piece of finishing line and yarn and tie it to a curtain rod or the top of your blinds. Then string it to the handle of your refrigerator or even a knob on your kitchen cabinet. You will then need to place a candy cane on the zip line and tape the elf’s hands to the straight end of it.
Set Your Elf up with a Camera
No matter where you travel to, throughout your life you probably will end up taking a lot of pictures. You can have a little fun with this by having your elf take pictures as well. Place your elf on the kitchen table with a camera. Then lay out some of your travel pictures around the elf or even cut out some travel related pictures from a magazine. If you plan on taking your children on a vacation that they don’t yet know about, you can always use pictures from that place in order to give them some clues as to your future travel plans.
Put Him On A Sled
Since your elf is from the North Pole he probably loves snow. You can show your kids just how much fun he has in it on his time off by putting him on a sled. Use some flour, just like you did with the snow angel, and place it onto your counter. Take a hot glue gun and glue three candy canes together so that they look like a sled. Then put your elf on it in the middle of the “snow”. You can also spread some marshmallows around to look like snowballs.
