Travel Resolutions for 2022

Visit A Place That’s Off The Beaten Path
Thanks to social media we know exactly which places are frequently visited and which ones aren’t. In 2022, skip the destinations that your friends and family members have been to recently. Choose a destination that is off the beaten path. This will allow you to have a unique vacation that has fewer tourists.

Try a New Travel Style
Expand your horizons and try different forms of travel. How about a river cruise through historic cities in Europe, a train trip to Rome, Florence & Venice or island hopping in Greece on a cruise?

Visiting a country you have never been to before? Consider an escorted tour.  Don’t worry there are tours that meet every travel style. Hiking, biking, cooking and more, are all options on many tour itineraries.  You can also customize a tour with a company like Monograms travel, often for much less than traveling on your own.

Try Eco-Friendly Travel
Just like with many travelers, the environment is probably on your mind. In the new year, make it a point to try eco-friendly travel. Stay at a resort that has gone green. While you are traveling, try to lessen your carbon footprint. Walk as much as possible to and from the different sites (this will allow you to see all sorts of things along your journey anyway!). Skip purchasing plastic water bottles and bring a reusable one instead. Even little things you do can be very beneficial for the environment. Take an Adventure Vacation
Why not go hiking while on a U.S. National Parks tour?  Take a cycling tour in Tuscany or a multi-sport adventure in New Zealand.  If you are more conservative and don’t want to travel to far, consider a cruise and then book adventurous shore excursions such as Ziplining, ATV’s or jet skiing.  Places to Zip Line while cruising the world is a great place to start researching.

Travel Solo
This year saw a huge increase in solo travel.  It gives you a chance to find yourself, gain confidence & independence & connect with new people.  We have some very popular posts including Best Solo Travel Destinations, Tips for Solo Dining When Traveling & Solo Travel After a Breakup.

Get Up Early To See A Sunrise At Your Destination
It’s pretty difficult to stop and smell the roses at times. This is even true on vacation. Make it a point to get up early and see a sunrise. Don’t just do it so you can take pictures of it to post on social media. Leave the camera behind and just be in the moment, sipping your cup of coffee and enjoying the beauty and tranquility of it.

Travel With a Purpose
Travel with companies that support local communities such as  G Adventures tours, you are making a difference. Travel takes on new meaning when you discover how your vacation can transform lives. When you do travel, make sure and spend locally. Don’t visit chain restaurants or large department stores, but rather support locals.
