PRIDE MONTH
Pride month is a celebratory movement that acknowledges sexual diversity, and the movement also brings awareness of discrimination and violence that has been affecting the LGBT community. On June 27, 1970, the first pride march was organized by Chicago Gay Liberation. The spirit behind the pride movement for equality has only strengthened over the past decades, with hundreds of pride events organized in 80-plus countries.
It is truly awesome to see people from different walks of life stand in solidarity for love. The right to love freely! We as a society need this movement to keep reminding us that the only way to achieve or become the beacon of light is to recognize individuals’ rights to live their version of love and feel safe in exercising their freedom of choice. Like any movement that pursues equal rights for all and promotes dignity and pride in oneself.

LGBTQ+ Travel: Celebrating the Freedom to Explore
At Atlas Travel Center, we believe travel is for everyone — and that every traveler deserves to feel welcome, safe, and celebrated at their destination. Pride Month is a powerful reminder of how far our world has come in recognizing the freedom to live and love authentically, and it’s also an opportunity to highlight the remarkable growth of LGBTQ+-welcoming travel experiences around the world.
From world-famous Pride celebrations in New York, San Francisco, and Sydney, to the more intimate and deeply moving events in cities like Reykjavik, Berlin, and Cape Town, Pride travel has become a genuinely global phenomenon. Cruise lines including Celebrity, Holland America, and Norwegian have long been recognized as particularly welcoming to LGBTQ+ travelers — both in their onboard culture and in their dedicated Pride sailings. Our advisors know which destinations, ships, and resorts are genuinely inclusive versus those that are simply marketing-inclusive, and we guide clients accordingly.
Planning Safe, Welcoming LGBTQ+ Travel
While many destinations around the world warmly welcome LGBTQ+ travelers, others require more careful research. Our advisors stay informed about entry requirements, local attitudes, and legal protections at destinations worldwide so that our clients can travel with confidence and peace of mind. We also know which Pride events to plan far in advance — the most popular sailings and destination celebrations fill up many months ahead.
