Back in January, Tauck World Discovery officially announced the introduction of two new Tauck river cruise vessels or “New-Builds” (ms Inspire & ms Savor) scheduled to arrive in March and June of 2014. The two additions would officially bring the total number of Tauck European river ships to six. Furthermore, the two new vessels will bring four new itineraries not to mention options to the Seine, Rhine, & Danube rivers (Rendezvous on the Seine, Cruising the Seine, Plus Versailles Paris & London, Danube Reflections, and The Romantic Rhine).
Besides including new features & conveniences not found in Tauck’s other vessels, the new builds will also accommodate fewer guests, which we imagine will only bring Tauck’s notable service to greater heights. It’s not to say, or to ignore the fact that unlike other operators that are known to staff only one cruise director Tauck does the same; however, unlike their competitors, Tauck complements the cruise director with an additional four tour directors on every vessel and on every departure guaranteeing a more personalized experience. Aside from that fact, the real reason behind this change is not service as Tauck already executes that part flawlessly; the reason for the capacity reduction is motivated mainly by being able to add a higher percentage of suites for guests. More suites you ask? How many more suites would they need? The Jewel class vessels, which are comprised of the Swiss Sapphire, Swiss Jewel, Treasures, & Swiss Emerald, have 14- suites, which take up almost half the Diamond Deck! That’s right… Tauck is including more with their Inspiration Class Vessels (Inspire & Savor) ~ 8 more suites to be exact, increasing their total to 22 suites.
Tauck tours currently offers thirteen (13) river voyages throughout Europe on four vessels accommodating each guest with fully-inclusive pricing with zero options sold, all gratuities, all shore excursions, airport transfers, unlimited wine and beer with onboard meals. With the addition of both new vessels, Tauck will command a total of seventeen (17) voyages & will be keeping a close eye on the independent traveler by adding much more to their bottom-line price such as access to more distinctive cultural experiences such as an exclusive excursion to Monet’s home in Giverny or Dining in Krumlov Castle.
In conclusion, Tauck tours continues to go above & beyond by providing us with (in their own words) the promise of an inspirational travel experience. Because how we see Europe matters.
