With all of these April showers around, it’s time for some May flowers. Check out these places to stop and see a wide assortment of flowers and topiary this May.
Great Smokey Mountain National Park
Not only is this park great to hike and enjoy nature, but it’s also a popular place to see a variety of flowers. There are over 1,600 different species of flowers that can be found here. Many of which are hidden in some of the cracks and crevices of the mountain. The park’s Quiet Walkways are an especially good place to see flowers that haven’t been disturbed and are fairly well preserved.
Brooklyn Botanic Garden
There are many different flowers to see here. For those that can visit during the month of April, they can see some of the cherry blossoms on display here as part of the Sakura Matsuri Festival. They can also enjoy performances and demonstrations. The Brooklyn Botanic Garden gives visitors the chance to see flowers as they’ve never seen them before.
Bellagio’s Conservatory And Botanical Gardens
Most people don’t associate Las Vegas with flowers. At Bellagio’s Conservatory And Botanical Gardens, visitors can see such things as an 11-foot carousal made out of flowers and a 26-foot windmill. There are also musical performances that occur each day. It’s a nice place to retreat to in order to escape the busyness of Las Vegas. Now through May 14 visitors can also see the flowers on hand for the Japanese Spring Celebration. There are 82,830 flowers that are part of this exhibit and they include magnolias, ivy, begonias and hibiscus.
The Biltmore Festival Of Flowers
This destination is a favorite for travelers virtually any time of year. From April through the middle of May, visitors are in for an extra special treat with the Biltmore Festival Of flowers. This 8,000-acre estate features thousands of flowers that include peonies and irises. Visitors can also enjoy access to Antler Hill Village where they can tour the winery and take part in a free wine tasting that is included with admission to the Biltmore Estate.
Now is a great time to stop and smell the roses, or begonias or daisies for that matter. All around us flowers are popping up everywhere. No matter where you are located you can surely find a place to see the colorful May flowers sprouting out all around us.
