Universal Studios Orlando Announces King Kong

King Kong is back! At least at Universal Orlando starting next summer 2016 that is. Here’s the scoop about what we know so far.

The Ride
The ride’s full name will be “Skull Island: Reign of Kong”. It will be part of Islands of Adventure and will be located in between Jurassic Park and Toon Lagoon. Riders will go on an expedition in a truck. They will make their way through jungles and see prehistoric animals, caves and cauldrons. At the end of the ride they will see King Kong himself. The ride will be both indoors and out. Riders will have to be at least 34-inches high, but for little ones who do meet the ride requirement, it might be a little too intense for them as parts of the ride may be scary. Reign of Kong is supposed to be a lot different than the former King Kong attraction, Kongfrontation, which was at Universal Studios from 1990 to 2002.

Tips For Those Visiting Universal
With the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter ride being a huge success, Universal is set to add even more rides in the next few years. With Jurassic World and The Lorax coming soon, the park will see even more foot traffic than it has in previous years. Because of this, the park is bound to be very busy, even before these new rides open. To maximize your fun while at the theme park:

-Be prepared to wait. The lines will be long so try to make the best of it. Make sure your phone is charged so you can watch a show or check emails while you are in line. Also, remember to go to the bathroom beforehand.
-Have plenty of water and sunscreen on hand. As many of us know, Orlando can be very hot no matter what time of year it is. Slather on the sunscreen before hitting the park. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated while you are there.
-Remember you won’t be able to do everything in one day. Because of the lines and the crowds, you most likely won’t be able to do everything you want during the course of a day.

Plan to visit Universal Orlando for several days, especially if you want to visit both theme parks. Have a list of what rides you want to go on each day and utilize a map of the park so you aren’t aimlessly wandering around trying to figure out where you are going.
